BMW’s new roadster the 2015 model year R1200R can already be upgraded thanks to the efforts of Austrian exhaust specialists Remus. No less than 5 options have been added to the list, with two homologated for street riding and the remaining three being complete systems, graded Racing, meaning no EEC approval.
The new R1200R can be upgraded with the Hexacone silencers, all sporting carbon fiber end caps and arriving in three finishes. The two which are fully street-legal can be had in stainless steel and carbon fiber trims, with the carbon one looking truly great and mean. For the racing-grade complete systems, a third option was included, titanium.

The new Remus silencers save weight and add some horsies

Remus is offering these new exhausts with very good looking carbon fiber heat shields, no matter whether you will be purchasing the slip-on or the full system. Also, the inlet caps are made from carbon, for further weight saving and durability.

Speaking of weight, you will be saving at least 1.5 kg (3.3 lb) when switching from the stock cans to the Remus ones, while the hexagonal geometry is also providing cool looks and enough interior space for optimal flow. No mention on remapping the bike’s ECU was made, so we can expect that these Remus cans are simply plug-and-play.

While the full tech spec sheets are not available, rumors say that they will add around 2 horsepower to the 2015 BMW R1200R. Of course, adding 2 to the existing 123 hp will barely make a difference, but coupling this with the lower weight will improve a bit the power-to-weight ratio. And you also get cooler looks and a more aggressive tone.

Sold so far only in Europe, the Remus R1200R exhausts are €719 and €802 for the stainless steel and the carbon slip-ons, respectively, and €1,332, €1,399 and €1,416 for the full systems in steel, titanium and carbon trims, accordingly.
