The 2015 BMW M3 is ready to hit the streets with regular drivers behind the wheel, not just BMW’s own test pilots. This summer will see the introduction of the new model for a starting price of $62,925.
That price is exactly $5,350 more than what the E90 model used to cost when it was released, 3 years ago and it’s a lot more than the $2,800 ante the M4 is carrying compared to the E92 M3 Coupe it replaces. Add a possible gas-guzzler tax of $1,300 and you might be looking at around $65,000 for a stock model.
Speaking of stock, the M3 Sedan comes equipped with plenty of features and amazing tech like the new S55 3-liter biturbo inline 6-cylinder engine making 431 HP and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque, a brand new manual 6-speed gearbox, CFRP roof and driveshaft and plenty more.
You also get heated mirrors, electrically adjustable seats, automatic climate control, Head-Up display, Navigation system and just about anything you could possibly want. Of course, for some people that won’t be enough and they’ll dive in the optionals pretty deep.
That’s where they’ll find the $8,150 Carbon Ceramic Brakes, $950 Adaptive M Suspension and many many others. On thing you could consider is the 7-speed DCT gearbox that will set you back $2,900. If you think that’s expensive, you should check the prices in Germany.
Back home, the M3 starts at €74,600 ($102,715) with the manual 6-speed gearbox and €78,500 ($108,075) with the automatic box, a nearly $6,000 difference. The optionals are also more expensive, the M Adaptive Suspension being priced at €1,900 ($2,600) and the Ceramic Brakes at $10,000 (€7,300).
At the moment, you can’t configure an M3 or M4 on the US website but you can do so on the German one. Check it out!
