We've just seen the BMW F22 2 Series Coupe in some winter testing spyshots last month, and the German media is already speculating on further developments planned by the Munich-based automaker for this platform.
According to AutoBild, the 2 Series, which basically is the four-door version of the 1 Series, will be available in both coupe and cabrio variants by 2014. Furthermore, the 2 Series is set to be offered as a Gran Coupe as well in BMW's attempt to rival the Mercedes-Benz CLA and the Audi A3 sedan.
As we already know, the Gran Coupe lineup comes with premium features over the standard four-door versions and its design blends sleek-looking coupe styling with 4-seat practicality. More boot space is supposed to make it attractive as a family car as well, and for those looking for a bit more rush, an M2 Grand Coupe is more than likely.
This 2 Series Gran Coupe rendering is all we have for now, but we'll keep our eyes peeled for every little detail that may emerge and come back to report it.
