Call us strange, but we'm actually excited about the new Audi TT coming to Geneva next week. If the TT were a person it would be good friend, a hard working guy who never makes a fuss and has overcome its bland looks with hard work. Combining that sort of philosophy with the a whole new architecture that VW has invested all its money into, the TT can only be a winner.
Let's see if this video can convince you to be just as excited as we are!

"Taut" and "poised" are two words Audi will consistently use to describe its new design. From the ground up, the TT has been designed to be purposeful but at the same time evoke two generations of success. Having a successful sportscar that's selling well is no small achievement in this market and Ingolstadt is treading carefully in order to keep most of its customers, at the same time finding a few new ones with more masculine features. It's a bit like what Volkswagen did when it redesigned the Beetle.

The front end which we can partially show you for the first time is dominated by horizontal lines in the grille and hood. Audi also moved the four rings from the grille to the hood, like on the R8. Just like the new A3 range, you'll be able to get the TT with xenons or LEDs, but the sportscar will have the cooler Matrix LED system of with individual adaptive sources.

There's power in simplicity and understatement. The usually straight Audi "tornado" line is broken at the front by wheel arch, which as a prominent feature intersects the hood joint.

At the rear, horizontal lines are again present to reinforce the wide impression. The struts in the rear lights pick up on the headlights design. The third brake light with a flat strip shape links the two units on either side, creating a characteristic Audi number place recess.

Unlike the TT we know today, all engine versions have two large, round exhaust tailpipes in the diffuser, making anybody buying a 1.4-liter turbo TT or a diesel look like a sportscar driver.

Like all Audi S models, the TTS features four tailpipes. On top of that, Audi is likely to add the 380 PS TT RS when the new 2.5-liter TFSI is ready for Euro6 regulations.
