The Audi Q3 facelift may not seem all that important from a cosmetic point of view, but this one of the most popular cars in the segment and we know many family buyers are considering one right now.
At launch only a few engines were available, mainly the 1.4 TFSI and the 150 hp version of the 2.0 TDI. But production has also started on a 2.0 TFSI turbo and we have the full info.
Priced at €36,100, the 2.0 TFSI quattro S tronic (you can't have any other gearbox or drivetrain) is the most expensive Q3 in the range right now. It's powered by a new EA888 turbo engine that makes 180 hp and 320 Nm of torque. As far as we know, only the VW Scirocco shares it at the moment.
You might think that Audi is offering too little power, but as the video below prove, it's plenty for a car this size. By the time the twin-clutch automatic is done with 3rd gear, you've reached 100 km/h in 7.6 seconds, which is very impressive. The top speed is 217 km/h (134 mph), enough to comfortably navigate the autobahn fast lanes.
As far as economy is concerned, this Q3 falls within efficiency class C, which isn't perfect. But you can definitely live with 6.5 l/100km combined if you can afford a €36,000 small SUV.
