We've seen what the new Golf will look like earlier this year, admired the new German technology they were putting into their cars in Europe and finally, the future of Audi compact mobility is coming. Official base pricing for the 2015 A3 Sedan has been announced.
The all-new A3 sedan is the first three-box A3 model. It's bigger and more practical, but we do have issue with the price: $29,900, which is exactly the same as the Mercedes CLA, a sexier car that also has more power for the base model.

What's more, if practicality is your biggest issue, than what's wrong with a $32,750 BMW 320i, or the Audi A3 for that matter?

The reason for the high best model is that things lie a panoramic glass sunroof, leather seating surfaces, and bi-xenon headlights are all standard. What's more, all engine variants re with as standard with the 6-speed S tronic transmission.

Speaking of engines, Audi says only that they will include the 1.8 TFSI, 2.0 TFSI and 2.0 TDI. We thing that's because these are brand new engines from the EA888 family, and thus offer slightly more power than the ones we already know. The base 1.8 TFSI might have 180 hp instead of the current 170, The bigger 2.0 should be the 2.0 TFSI from the 2014 A4, rated at 220 hp and 258 lb-ft, while the 2.0 TDI clean diesel could be based on the new 150 PS European engine with more torque than is currently available in the US.

“The Audi A3 sedan raises the bar in this premium compact segment” said Scott Keogh, President, Audi of America. “It will add to our momentum in the U.S. marketplace by bringing a new level of technology, craftsmanship and performance to the market."
