Acura has confirmed that the brand new TLX performance sedan will make its public debut at the 2014 New York Auto Show next month.
Unveiled in prototype form at the Detroit Auto Show in January, the new Acura TLX is being developed as a replacement for both the TL and TSX model and promises to deliver an outstanding amount of luxury and refinement for a mid-size sedan.

Acura has yet to release photos of the car, we do know that the TLX will be offered with both the 2.4-liter four-cylinder and the 3.5-liter V6 engines. The former will be paired to an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic, while the latter will be connected to a nine-speed automatic.

Two-wheel drive will be standard on both models, while Acura’s new Super-Handling All Wheel Drive system, which is 25-percent lighter and features new torque-vectoring control logic, will be available on the 3.5-liter V6 model exclusively. Both 2WD and AWD models will carry the next-generation Acura Precision All-Wheel Steer technology.

Other features will include Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist System and Collision Mitigation Braking. Additionally, an Integrated Dynamics System with four different modes will also find its way into the luxury sedan.

The 2014 New York International Auto Show is scheduled to begin on April 16.
