The ZX-14R Kawasaki may indeed be the fastest production motorcycle in existence, as it has smoked the amazing Suzuki Hayabusa more than once on the drag strip. Kawasaki brings a slightly revised model year big-bore Ninja, and it looks like the goods are still there, only better.
Kawasaki tweaked the monocoque aluminium frame for a narrow profile boasting extreme sturdiness, while being roomy enough to house engine, airbox and filter in a centralized mass design. Even the battery is housed inside the frame, but still easily accessible.
The 1,441c in-line 4 engine is the crown jewel: capable to provide around 200 hp and mated to a 6-speed gearbox finely tuned for a zero-compromise experience, with dual balancers for minimal vibrations, while the chain cover comes with an urethane coating for minimal mechanical noise.
No less than three traction control modes are accessible via a handlebar switch for easy and quick setup. Together with the slipper clutch and the (optional) ABS brakes, the 2014 Kawasaki ZX-14R promises an exhilarating ride, no matter whether you let it rip on the open highway or are cruising through the countryside.
The base model is $15,299 (€11,530), while the ABS version is only slightly more expensive, at $15,699 (€11,830). The former comes in Flat Ebony/Ebony, while the latter is available in Golden Blazed Green/Metallic Spark Black, Candy Burnt Orange/Metallic Spark Black and Flat Ebony/Ebony.
