Althea Racing is once more teaming with Ducati for a World Superbike presence in 2014, but this time it is going to be the EVO class. The rules and restrictions of the EVO class seem the most suitable ones for Borgo Panigale machinery and allow a cheaper entry in the series.
After the split at the end of 2012, most of us believed there was no way the two will get together, but it looks like the ties that bind are a bit stronger. Even more, the team will field long-time Ducati rider Niccolo Canepa, former Superstock 1000 champion back in 2007.

The EVO rules largely put a Superstock-class engine into a Superbike frame, and the Panigale machinery did well in the Superstock class, especially with the Ducati ECU.

The team will be headed by Genesio Bevilaqua and he just reconfirmed all the technical staff. Bevilaqua has done a great job winning the world title with Carlos Checa and the old 1198 bike, and has also broken in the new 1199 Panigale, so we can expect great racing from the new team.
