Looking for a middleweight cruiser with no fancy upgrades and yet making zero compromises in terms of performance, craftsmanship or looks? Before you choose sides you should definitely take a good look at the 2014 V Star 1300, and test ride it.
The 80cui (1304cc) v-twin engine is a middleweight one, judged by the cruiser standards, and this means just the right amount of power, torque, maneuverability, fun and by all means, fuel economy. Star claims 42 mpg (5.6 l/100 km) form the 2014 1300 machine, and with a 4.9 gal (18.5 l) tank, this means serious touring fun between fill-ups.

The 2014 V Star 1300 comes with nothing to write home about: it's not a specific thing which makes it so cool, but the whole lot of features. The steel double cradle frame allows a low seat positioning and this will be helpful for smaller riders. On the frame side, the 2014 V Star 1300 also comes with a 41mm fork, 7-spoke aluminium cast wheels show with beefy 130mm and 170mm tires for the front and rear, respectively.

Just like Star has gotten us used to, the brakes are top-notch, dual 298mm discs for the front and a similar one in the rear are sure to provide more than enough stopping force. The fuel injection brings smooth start-ups in the cold mornings and exceptional riding in the high mountains, while the 5-speed gearbox and authentic cruiser belt final drive make sure this baby is easy and fun to ride in the city as it is on the highways and countryside roads.

Accessories are to be found in any dealership for those who need more bling to their ride. You should already see this bike on the showroom floors for a truly affordable price starting at $11,290 (€8,695).
