2014 Toyota Tundra Is “”Rugged but Carlike” - The Weekly Driver

Being aimed mostly for loyalists, with plans to be sold in only 137,000 units next year, the new Toyota Tundra comes with a bolder exterior and a restyled interior to satisfy even the fussiest customer.

The Weekly Driver has recently tested a pre-production 2014 Tundra, fitted with the largest 5.7-liter V8 making 381 hp and 401 lb-ft (543 Nm), with a maximum towing capacity of 10,400 lb (4,717 kg).

The new Tundra was well-received by the testers for its rugged design, roominess, upscale interiors, new features, model variety, powerful V8 engine, ride comfort, interior practicality and the available 1794 Edition, reflecting the western lifestyle theme while also paying tribute to the 1794-built ranch in which the Tundra plant is located now.

On the downside, they were contesting the narrow running boards, high step-up and the high fuel consumption.
