We were telling you yesterday that Canada will receive a limited-number batch of Toyota Tacoma X-Runners, as opposing to the US where the model has been discontinued. Let’s get a bit into details with this sporty pickup, shall we?
Currently displayed at the 2014 Canadian International Auto Show, the new Tacoma X-Runner will hit dealerships in March in a limited amount.

We currently don’t have live photos from the show, but if you happen to be there, you’ll see that the X-Runner has been engineered with passion inside and out.

Under the hood you’ll find a 4-liter V6 gasoline engine delivering 236 hp and 266 lb-ft of torque which comes with a six-speed close-ratio manual gearbox with overdrive bolted to it. The combination manages to deliver great performance and an average fuel consumptions of 11.4 l/100 km (20.6 mpg). All the power goes to the rear wheels only via a limited-slip differential.

Going further under the nicely shaped sheet metal, the X-Runner’s road manners have been improved by an X-Brace reinforced frame and a lowered sport-tuned suspension system with Bilstein shock absorbers, while the car rides on redesigned 18-inch rims wrapped in P255/45R18 performance summer tires.

Speaking about the nicely crafted exterior, the Tacoma X-Runner comes with distinct styling cues, such as a hood scoop, integrated foglamps, unique 18-inch rims, a full skirt package, chrome exhaust and LED taillights. The six-foot double-walled bed features a removable tailgate, tie-down points and cleats as well as a 400 Watt, 120 V power outlet.

Inside, the X-Runner Access Cab comes with four distinct seats, featuring front sport seats wrapped in water-repellant fabric and folding rear seats at the back that provides a good amount of covered cargo space when down. More features include a sliding rear window, privacy glass, keyless entry, cruise control, backup camera, leather steering wheel and shifter, metallic accents and dual illuminated vanity mirrors.

Pricing for the new X-Runner will be released closer to its launch next month.
