Even Toyota admitted that the outgoing generation Highlander had some issues, like the fact it wasn’t good looking enough, it wasn’t too family focused and it didn’t handle as it should.
But here comes the 2014 Toyota Highlander that promises to put all those bad things away. Starting with the exterior, you can already see the improvement. The front fascia got resculpted, wearing a big bold trapezoidal grille and wraparound thinner headlights. The sides have been flared more while the rear now has redesigned RAV4-inspired taillamps and a new tailgate which can optionally be fitted with an electric opener.

Moving to the interior, the Highlander has now more passenger space and even a third row of seats to take up to eight passengers. Recently reviewed by Motor Trend, they also found the big bin under the front center armrest as being very large, and they also found the dashboard new shelf a very handy place to store things like cell phones, sunglasses, a wallet, receipts and other miscellaneous things.
