The all-new 2014 Toyota Corolla, scheduled to arrive in US dealerships this fall, will return up to 42 miles per gallon, company senior vice president Bob Carter revealed earlier this week at the J.P. Morgan Auto Conference in New York City.
As you might have guessed, we’re talking about the Eco version, which, according to Carter, will get 42 miles per gallon on the highway. That’s more than the first-generation Toyota Prius hybrid that returned 41 mpg highway when it was introduced in the United States.
Speaking of showroom deliveries, it seems that “fall” actually means “late summer” or “early September”, because Carter also revealed that the all new Toyota Corolla will hit nationwide dealerships “around Labor Day”, which is celebrated on September 2 this year.
"Out of those 40 million people, no one ever bought a Corolla because they thought they looked good driving it. That changes at the end of the month with the new Corolla,” Carter was quoted saying.
