2014 Toyota Corolla Selected for “Green Car of the Year”

The addition of the LE Eco version to the 2014 Toyota Corolla model range has attracted a lot of attention and there are chances to be crowned the Green Car of the Year.
Green Car Journal has published its five finalists for the magazine’s high-profile 2014 Green Car of the Year program and the 2014 Toyota Corolla is among them.

The most economic Corolla, the LE Eco model, is also the most powerful in the range, being powered by a four-cylinder 1.8-liter Valvematic engine delivering 140 hp while achieving 42 highway mpg.

Other finalists on the list are the Audi A6 TDI, BMW 328d, Honda Accord and Mazda3. All the vehicles were selected for their achievements in raising the bar in environmental performance and availability to the mass market was an important decisional factor.

The winner will be revealed at the LA Auto Show press days next month.
