The 2014 Toyota Corolla has certainly moved from the dull house appliance-like character, now coming with more everything even in its basic trim level.
The sporty S grade has been continued with the 2014 model year, but don’t expect to provide some serious thrills, it’s still a Corolla and it was never known for its sportiness.
So, the 2014 Corolla S got rid of the plastic “sporty” bits glued to the body, now being differentiated by a unique front grille, integrated rear “diffuser”, bigger alloy rims, rear disc brakes and a Sport mode that moves the CVT’s “shift” points upper.
Car and Driver tested it out and despite all the Corolla S’ enhancements, the reviewers said they will look for cheap thrills somewhere else.
