After we’ve seen the new Toyota Corolla’s interior design, we’ll have a look at what features you get for stock and what toys and systems you can have as well.
Apart from the standard equipment level, the new Corolla can be garnished with automatic air conditioning, Smart Key System for the front doors and trunk with Push Button Start, a Multi-Information Display, leather-wrapped full adjusting steering wheels with audio controls and paddle shifters, SofTex-trimmed heated front seats, rear camera, an Entune infotainment system and probably more features which we will see as the compact sedan will be ready to go on sale this fall.

Moving on to the wheels, the 2014 Toyota Corolla will have stock 15-inch steel rims with plastic covers for the L and LE, while bigger 16s will be found on the LE and S models. Same size but aluminum made will equip the LE and Eco trims, while the 17-inch stylish ones will be unique to the S version.

Along with the aerodynamic improving paneling from under the car, the CVTi-S equipped models will benefit from the ECO driving mode. Activating the option, the accelerator control turns non-linear to avoid choppy driving accelerations when driving around the city, helping to reduce fuel consumption. Basically, the pedal won’t send the full signal to the ECU if you push it rapidly at low speed or in ‘crawling’ traffic. However, it comes back to normal when exceeding 50% input. The ECO mode will also cut down the power a bit for the air-con’s compressor, making the system to go in ‘Recirculating’ mode.

SPORT mode on the other hand, wont turn the Corolla in a race track beast, but it will alter shift points (well, CVTs don’t have shifting points, but this one is emulating a classic automatic). Also, the “7-speeds” can be changed quickly via the steering-mounted paddle shifters or the center console gear-shifter which has an “M” (Manual) position.

Handling and steering have been improved by a rigid unibody and an improved suspension. The electric power steering also offers more feeling of the road for the driver via the three-spoked steering wheel, which is both height and depth adjustable.
