Suzuki announces the introduction of a special trim for its V-Strom 1000 flagship dual-sport machine. However, in case you though that the 2014 Suzuki V-Strom 1000 ABS BIG was going to be a mean beast ready to tackle the toughest roads in style, well… the new trim only comprises some style-focused upgrades with a certain degree of touring convenience and a smaller price for the optional equipment now offered as stock.
Six items on the optional accessory list are now present on the Suzuki V-Strom 1000 ABS BIG. They include two side cases and a top case, with their mounting bracket system, an engine guard, a plastic bash plate, a center stand and special V-Strom 1000 graphics. This accessory combo will save customers around €1,400 ($1,875) off the list, too bad we don’t know the price of the V-Strom 1000 ABS BIG yet.
The offer is limited through 30 September 2014, so if you feel like getting a well-equipped V-Strom 1000 ABS for a lower price, going for the BIG trim is a very smart idea. Even more, to show their care for the customer Suzuki extends the warranty with two extra years, so your V-Strom 1000 will be protected under 5 years of care-free warranty. Only one condition applies for this warranty extension and it requires that all inspections and maintenance be carried out in Suzuki-authorized centers.
Apparently, if you’ve already bought a Suzuki V-Strom 1000 and have done so, with relevant proof in the bike’s service book, Suzuki will also expand the warranty for your machine with 24 extra months. Customers can redeem this warranty extension until 31 December, 2014. Honestly, we were rather expecting some proper adventure equipment in the shape of wire spoke wheels, but it looks like you'd have to reach much deeper in your pockets for them.
