The R-Spec is the upgraded version of Star Motorcycles' new star, Bolt. We cannot stop admiring the amazing work Yamaha has put up for this bike: the changes are as subtle as they get, and the Bolt R-Spec retains all the lines of classic roadster... yet it's the minute details which make a world of difference.
On the tech side, the 2014 Bolt R-Spec is nothing to write home about: a 60-degree 942cc v-twin with enough punch for fast highway runs and enough torque for city carving, all in a nicely-trimmed package loaded with top-notch fuel injection, and several engineering tweaks Star has gotten us used to in their premium engines.
The bike looks almost spartan and it completely misses the bling factor... and maybe that's why we love it so much. The R-Spec comes with modern piggyback rear shocks, emphasizing the contemporary pedigree, and comes with a most aggressive 2-in-1 massive exhaust can, just like the Bolt.
The Star Bolt R-Spec will be available from July 2013 for a very affordable base price of $8,290 (€6,375), in either Matte Gray or Camo Green.
