Street racing has come upon us once again and this time we want to show you a 2014 Shelby GT500 battling it out with a Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.
While the ‘Stang is in stock condition, the Camaro comes with a few goodies for its engine bay. The ZL1’s engine has received quite a bit of attention, being treated with custom cams, a stall converter to match these, a ported blower (10 PSI boost), as well as longtubes.
Even the tires are different, since the GT500 uses the stock rubber, while the Camaro is on drag radials. However, we must keep in mind that while the ‘Stang tips the scales at 3800 lbs, the Camaro weighs a massive 4,450 lbs.
The two go head to head in two races with rolling start. They start with a low roll (GT500 in second gear) and then the game moves to a higher roll. Thus, the Camaro's tire advantage is reduced. The results? You can see these behind the “play” button below.
