2014 S-Class W222 “Four Words” Ad is Epic

We were a bit harsh on the “Control” commercial for the new S-Class W222 we showed you yesterday. Not to say that we're taking anything we said about it back, but putting into a larger context isn't as bad as we depicted it to be.

The larger context is actually the debut of an integrated marketing launch for the new “Sonder Klasse” (German for “Special Class”) in the land of the free.

A longer, 60 second ad for the car is now online on the MB USA official YouTube channel and we have nothing but praise words for its execution, feel and message.

The two commercials coincide with the debut of the Mercedes-Benz S 550 in dealerships across the US and will go in rotation on most national talk shows, national broadcast, cable channels, a host of business and sports outlets and a variety of other TV shows.

“The new S-Class represents the best of the Mercedes-Benz brand,” said Bernie Glaser, vice president of marketing for Mercedes-Benz USA. “The strides we make in the areas of design, safety, engineering and technology - which are pioneered on the new S-Class - will make their way through all our models and eventually into the mainstream. This is what has happened throughout our 127 years, and as a result, there's hardly a car on the road today that doesn't owe some of its technology to that constant commitment to innovate and to lead.”

Enough chit chat about it and just take a look at the 60-second ad below, because we were quite a bit on the “mesmerized” side after watching it.
