Land Rover has just revealed the 2014 Range Rover L, a long wheelbase version of the fourth-generation SUV which made its debut a year ago. To created this palace on wheels, the British automaker has added 20 centimeters to the aluminum chassis of the car, which translates into 14 extra centimeters of legroom in the car.
As a result of this, they've been able to add things like a work table, two-zone climate control and controls for the back seats which can individually move and recline 17 degrees.
To give you an idea why Land Rover built this vehicle, we'll tell you that it will debut in a couple of weeks at the Dubai Motor Show. Following its debut in early November, the L will also be shown shown at the LA Auto Show on the 20th and Guangzhou in China on the 21st November.
You'll be able to buy the Range Rover L in Vogue, Vogue SE, Autobiography and Autobiography Black trims, and even the hybrid powertrain will be available when this 5.2-meter vehicle goes on sale in next March.
This last trim level is brand new, and offers higher levels of exclusivity. “The Range Rover Autobiography Black is an opportunity to harness the strong emotional connection that Land Rover has with its customers the world over. This exclusive vehicle has been developed by the specialist Engineered to Order team to offer our customers an unrivalled and luxurious driving experience that provides a seamless integration between the needs of business and leisure,” says John Edwards, Managing Director, Individual Products Division.
To set the Range Rover L apart from the normal model, two sets of exclusive wheels have been created: seven-spoke 21- and 22-inch alloys featuring a high gloss polished finish. There's also a little "L" emblem at the bottom of the side gills.
