Porsche continues to call the 2014 Panamera a new generation car, and while that isn't technically the case, it might as well be. The differences between "then" and "now" are as stark as night and day.
Ahead of the Frankfurt Motor Show, Porsche has revealed a new Panamera Diesel, which is frankly quite impressive. One of the most popular models in Europe, this oil-burner now has 300 PS as opposed to the 250 PS (hp DIN) offered before. The 20% increase in output means you can now go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6 seconds and hit a higher top speed of 259 km/h compared to the 244 km/h achieved by the previous model. This makes it 0.8 seconds quicker to 100 than its predecessor, but thanks to a reworked transmission, it also burns only 6.4 liters of fuel per 100 km 44.1 mpg UK).
Perhaps even more impressive perhaps is the added torque, which has been increased by 100 Nm to 650 Nm available at engine speeds of between 1750 rpm and 2500 rpm.
The new Panamera Diesel will be available from January 2014 and will cost from €85,300 in Germany.
