2014 North American Car & Truck of the Year Long List Announced

In the car category, General Motors, Kia and Mercedes-Benz have been nominated with the most vehicles. The American giant is present with two Cadillacs and four Chevrolets, while Mercedes have four models. Four EVs are listed for this year’s award, including the Cadillac ELR, the Chevrolet Spark EV, the Fiat 500E, the Honda Fit EV and the smart fortwo electric.

Moving on to the truck/utility category, we can find an interesting crop of pickup trucks, full-size SUVs, crossovers, and MPVs. GM and Toyota lead the pack with three models each, while Nissan and Chrysler have been nominated with two vehicles. Unlike the car category, the truck/utility league features only three vehicles sporting European badges - the BMW X5, Ford Transit Connect, and the Range Rover Sport.
