There's no such thing as cheap and cheerful, but there is cheap and relatively pleasant. Nissan revealed the pricing details of the new model year Versa sedan for the US market.
Prices have remained the same, but trim and equipment has been improved a bit over the 2013 model year. As a reminder, all Versa sedans come with the same 1.6-liter DOHC 16-valve 4-cylinder engine with dual injector system and twin Continuously Variable Timing Control (CVTC). Its 109 hp is delivered through an automatic, manual or CVT gearbox.
But Nissan says it's made revisions to the suspension and tuning to sharpen up the car's responses and make it more pleasant to drive.
Now let's talk about what what you pay and what you're getting. The basic Versa S Sedan now comes with tachometer and low rolling resistance tires for the same $11,990 as last year. The automatic mode is more expensive at $12,990.
The Versa Sedan SV which comes standard with a CVT for $15,240 brings standard 60/40-split fold-down rear seat and a trunk release button on the key fob. Next up, the Versa SL comes with a standard set 16-inch alloy wheels, tri-coat headliner, 4.3-inch display audio and SiriusXM Satellite Radio.
