A new minicar that hit the Japanese market is not a big deal if you look at it objectively, but from the "oh my god this looks like a box on wheels" point of view, the significance is quite interesting. This is the 2014 Nissan Days Roox, a high roof van the size of a shoe box and painted in pink.
It's only been available in Japanese dealerships for a few weeks and we thought you guys might want to check out just how much tech they can cram into a car the length of a Fiat 500. The Dayz is the first kei car independently developed by Nissan and the Roox is the high-top van version of that car. It's surprisingly spacious, though the shape is very much reminiscent of a brick.
Features on this particular version include automatic sliding doors, Around View Monitor and UV-insulated glass. The cargo area can also become huge after folding all the seats. Nissan can swallow a whole 27-inch bicycle or anything else an average. Power is of course granted by the usual kei car 660cc engine with 63 hp, mated to one of Nissan's smallest CVTs. Basically, it's the exact opposite of a driver's car.
There's only so much we're willing to learn about a car we'll never drive, so we'll just label this a pink box and send you on your way. A detailed walkaround and full press release will tell you everything else there is to know about the Dayz. Roox.
