2014 MotoGP: Nicky Hayden Says His Honda Is Very, Very Slow

The first day of the kick-off test in Sepang was not at all what Nicky Hayden hoped, as the Kentucky Kid finished the first session with a disappointing 3 seconds gap from the leading Marc Marquez.
Even though Honda Racing Corporation advertised that the RCV1000R production racer team Drive M7 Aspar got is ony 3 tenths of a second slower than the RC213V factory-official prototype', it looks like the reality on the Malaysian track was way different.

On the other hand, Honda's arch-rival's leased engine-bikes fared significantly better, with the best NGM machine ridden by Aleix Espagaro 1.13 seconds behind Marquez, and only half a second or so slower than the best Yamaha of the day, with Rossi aboard.

Hayden was extremely direct as he said the bike was "very, very slow," and with his team mate Aoyama very close behind him, it's going to be really interesting seeing whether the RCV1000R is really what Honda advertised it would be, or the Open Class battle will see Yamaha gaining more momentum.
