The 2014 MotoGP action kicked off today in Malaysia, at the Sepang circuit, and Marc Marquez, no longer "the rookie", topped the day's session with a 0.518s lead from Valentino Rossi.
Third-fastest was Repsol Honda's Dani Pedrosa, a tenth of a second slower than Rossi, with Lorenzo and Bautista for the top 5 riders. It's a bit early to tell, butit seems like Alvaro Bautista is enjoying his 2014 Honda quite a lot, and we could expect interesting things from him this year...
The other Honda, Bradl's LCR came in 6th, followed by NGM's Aleix Espargaro, Pramac Ducati's Iannone on a very hope-inspiring 8th position and the Tech3 duo, Pol Espargaro and Bradley Smith for the top 10.
Edwards was 11 on his first official outing on the M1-powered bike, trailed by 4 Ducatis: Dovizioso, test rider Pirro, Crutchlow and Hernandez.
All factories had test riders at Sepang, with Michelle Pirro for Ducati, Katsuyuki Nakasuga for Yamaha, Randy de Puniet for Suzuki and Kosuke Akiyoshi for Honda.
Rust shaken off a bit, we're waiting for more concludent results tomorrow.
