The complete specs of the entry-level 2014 MINI One and MINI One D were revealed today, shocking the fan base with a new 1.2-liter petrol engine that, so far, seems to be unique to both the British manufacturer and its owner, BMW.
However, moving away from this unpleasant surprise, the British company also released a full photo gallery of the new MINI Cooper S, shot in Puerto Rico with some beautiful scenery in the background.
The Cooper S also brought a couple of surprises when it was announced, using a 2-liter engine for the first time in history of the British company. The new turbocharged unit makes 192 HP and up to 300 Nm of torque, turning the hardtop into a sub 7-second car (0-62 mph arrives in 6.7 seconds).
Fuel consumption was also improved compared to the previous model, rated at 5.2 - 5.4 l/100 km (45 - 43.5 mpg) for the automatic 6-speed and 5.7 - 5.8 l/100 km (41 - 40 mpg) for the manual.
More improvements were introduced inside the car, the new MINI now having driving modes and parking sensors, things that weren’t available for previous models.
Anyway, apart from all the technical improvements that popped-up under the hood, the cars also received a new design that you can thoroughly admire in the wallpapers posted below.
