The new MINI Cooper S Hardtop is definitely a step up from its predecessor. It’s not only that the leap in performance has increased but the technology it bolsters is pretty impressive too.
The new model now has a lot of added features like parking sensors, driving modes and even adjustable dampers and yet none of those are as important novelties as the engine.
This is the first time a MINI uses a 2-liter turbocharged unit. The aforementioned engine makes 192 HP and up to 300 Nm (221 lb-ft) of torque and can be hooked up to brand new 6-speed manual or automatic transmissions.
MINI decided to launch the new cars at a special press event held in Puerto Rico. The guys from AutoGuide were also invited and they even filmed a short video review of the S model, the one that currently has all the attention. You can watch it all in the clip posted below.
