The engine for this almighty performance saloon is the 5.5-liter V8 biturbo. It's rated at an output of 585 hp DIN (577 hp US standard) and 900 Nm of torque. This makes it 41 hp more powerful than de predecessor.

In the standard S63 AMG, this will take you from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds and on to a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph) which is electronically limited. But there's an even faster version. the S63 AMG 4Matic Long wheelbase takes just 4 seconds to reach 100 km/h and you can have the new Long wheelbase version of the car even without all-wheel drive.

But the new S63 is not just a powerhouse, it's also efficient and light. In fact, Mercedes say it's up to 100 kg lighter than before. This was achieved by using aluminum alloy for all the body panels, AMG forged light-alloy wheels, a lightweight lithium-ion battery and a weight-optimised AMG high-performance composite brake system.

Power is transmitted through f the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT seven-speed sports gearbox with three modes – "C" (Controlled Efficiency), "S" (Sport) and "M" (Manual). The rear-wheel drive models are also equipped with AMG sports suspension based on Magic Body Control, allowing the car to scan the road ahead and adapt setup in accordance.

“Following the successful launch of the A45 AMG and the CLA45 AMG, the new S63 AMG 4MATIC highlights our expertise in the automotive high-end segment,” AMG CEO Ola Kallenius said.
