2014 Mercedes S-Class Spotted Testing in Spain

Germany is covered in some really heavy snow and sleet at the moment, so it’s not surprising that Daimler’s engineers are continuing testing of the next S-Class in sunny Spain instead. A couple of brand new saloon were spotted by WillLilo near Barcelona.
The S-Class is as quiet as a mouse, so the only thing you’ll be able to hear is some road noise, so there’s no scoop to be seen here. However, it’s the perfect opportunity to talked about the technology hidden under the sculpted body.

The S-Class is the car with eyes in the back of its head. The S-Class is the car that brought us crumple zones, abs, airbags, ESP and other safety systems. Advanced technology added to this car will include active suspension that reads the road ahead and automatically adjusts the damping, an autonomous-driving traffic assistant that can accelerate and brake the S-Class to follow another car and plenty of radar-based and camera based sensors scattered around the car.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
