Since we've already sampled the new Mercedes Benz CLA, we pretty much knew what Consumer Reports were going to tell us right off the bat, but that didn't stop us from checking out their short video review.
Resident reviewer Tom Mutchler makes a good a good point: the $30,000 CLA is the cheapest Mercedes you can guy, but that doesn't include delivery and you'll have to stay away from every option possible, and that requires the restraint of a monk. We'll forgive the car for not having nicer wheels, but no xenon for this price?
Still, the October sales numbers showed almost 5,000 sales, which means with basically only one engine, the CLA accounted for 1/6 of all their sales. That's purely based on looks, which shows you just how desirable a cheap-ish Mercedes is.
If they sell 60,000 or so per year, they might as well build them in Mexico and offer them more cheaply.
