The 2014 Motor Trend Truck of The Year competition is about to end, with a single vehicle to emerge as the overall winner.
Interestingly enough, among the nine cars to battle for the award there are also no less than four vans, one of which is the recently-launched Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Van facelift.
Available in a variety of body styles and with different lengths, heights and engines, the Sprinter is also the most luxurious van available in the United States, with the model being available in America under different brands since 2001.
The Motor Trend Truck of The Year should be announced later on today, but we have a hunch that the Sprinter Van's chances are pretty slim for a number of reasons, most of them revolving around the fact that it's not American nor an actual truck.
To give you a better idea about its chances, in an online poll on Truck Trend's website yesterday, the Mercedes-Benz van was voted in eight position out of the nine candidates, but stranger things have happened.
