2014 Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG 4Matic Tested

Take a moment to look at how the wheels in the pic above are spinning. This could lead you to believe there’s hardly any work for the front axle in the AMG 4Matic’s scheme. Nevertheless, as we found during our recent 2014 Mercedes CLS63 AMG 4Matic test drive, this isn’t true.

Our test car just wanted to straighten up no matted what we did through the bends. That’s because AMG wanted to differentiate the all-wheel drive versions to the RWD ones as much as possible.

So, yes, the throttle pedal has lost its tire-melting superpowers. However, the CLS63 AMG’s comfortable character is truly enhanced by the 4Matic moniker.

Right now, we’re out on the highway and the only thing that gets inside the cabin is the weaponry-like tone of the exhaust. You still get to feel the speed a bit, but the rest is coziness.

Getting in the back comes to confirm this conclusion, even though we do have one complain. The seat base is a tad too narrow. We’ll have a chat with our rear sides about how this makes you feel in our 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG 4Matic test drive.
