2014 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Edition 507 Released

The main change is a power boost of 50 hp for the naturally-aspirated 6.2-liter V8 engine, which now delivers 507 hp, while the torque receives a minor 20 Nm (lb-ft) increase to 610 Nm (450 lb-ft). To achieve the new output, the M156 powerplant of the C63 AMG has borrowed the forged pistons from the M159 unit of the SLS AMG, also receiving a lighter crankshaft and upgraded connecting rods, as well as a new ECU map.

In the real world, the update means that the C63 AMG Coupe and Sedan deal with the 0 to 62 mph sprint in 4.2 seconds, while the Estate needs an extra 0.1 seconds for the job. As for the top speed, this is electronically limited to 174 mph (280 km/h), regardless of the body style chosen.

Unfortunately, the limited slip differential is an optional feature, but the good news is that the list of non-standard items includes goodies such as an upgrded suspension and the AMG Performance Media.

The stopping power has also been increased, with AMG introducing composite rotors in a size of 360x36 mm with six-pistons calipers for the front axle.

The C63 AMG Edition 507 rides on 19-inch wheels with rubber coming in a size of 235/35 R 19 up front and 255/30 R 19 at the back.

The exterior changes are limited and include a high-gloss black finish for the exterior mirror caps, radiator grille surround and daytime driving lights. We also receive darkened front lights and a designo Magno Platinum color.

US customers will receive the 2014 Edition 507 instead of the 2013 coupe and sedan fitted with the AMG Development Pacakge.
