With the exception of cars from VW Group, three-door hatchbacks are falling out of favor with buyers. For example, Kia UK says only 13% of cee'd sales are 3-door models.
Despite now being at its third incarnation, the Mazda3 has never had the pleasure of being a 3-door car. However, its predecessor the 323/Familia used to be offered as a 3-door which lives on as a Chinese clone car to this day.

A couple of days ago, the third-generation Mazda3 made its official web debut as an exciting new 5-door. It has tapered side windows and blacked out B-pillars, so the resemblance to a coupe is quite clear, just like the Mazda6 is more of a four-door coupe, a rival for the CC not the Passat.

Getting back to the subject at hand, Hungarian renderer X-Tomi has created the 3-door version of the 2014 Mazda3. It'a really sexy car, but Mazda's money would be far better of being used to develop a smaller diesel engine.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
