Maserati has been testing the new Quattroporte luxury sedan under heavy camouflage for a while now, not letting us even guess at what the shape of the future model will be. However, these alleged patent drawings should shed some light on the car.
The drawings originate from Dutch publication AutoWeek.nl and are claimed to have arrived via the European Patent Office.
The images show a simple design, with a few edges here and there, but much fewer curves than the old Quattroporte.
The Quattroporte is the first of three new Maseratis to be launched in the near future. It’s expected to debut at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, offering a brand new supercharged V6, rumored to be derived from the Chrysler Pentastar engine, as well as a twin-turbo V8.
