2014 M235i, F80 M3 and i8 Caught Testing on Nurburgring

Since 2014 is fast approaching, BMW is hurrying up to finish testing the new cars that will bring 2 new Series to the line-up and a new sports car. Spotter nurburgdale caught the most interesting new cars to be released next year on tape, while testing on the Nordschleife of Nurburgring.

First up is the new sportscar from BMW, the hybrid i8. Rumored to be launched at the Frankfurt Auto Show, this year, the new car should be something more than interesting, considering how much trouble the Bavarian manufacturer went through to keep it secret and public at the same time.

Next up you'll see a 2 Series fitted with the M Sport aerodynamics package and, since there's no badge on it, we can assume it's the new M235i model. BMW didn't confirm an M2 to be produced (yet) so this seems to be the closest you'll get to a 1M Coupe in the future.

Last, but not least, the new F80 M3 is there too, with its sexy 4-door sedan contour. Even though the F30 3 Series was launched more than a year ago, we're still waiting for the M3 to show up, especially considering the fact that, starting with this year, the iconic sports car will only be available as a Sedan, the Coupe and Convertible versions being transformed into M4s.

Either way, we're excited about seeing the new M3 which is rumored to be powered by a twin-turbocharged inline 6-cylinder unit with around 420 HP. It might seem like a loss from the bigger V8 that is currently available on the E92 M3 but due to significant weight loss, the new M should be a bit quicker than its predecessor.
