Yesterday we showed you a series of spyshots that revealed what was expected to be the “farewell” edition for the Lamborghini Gallardo. Now the company is officially introducing the supercar, with this being dubbed the Gallardo LP570-4 Squadra Corse, borrowing its designation from Lambo’s racing division.
Lamborghini is reiterating the idea of the Gallardo Super Trofeo race car being brought to the road. Last time they did that we got the Gallardo Super Trofeo Stradale we drove a while ago, but since the 2013 facelift for the supercar has also reached the motorsport version, it was time for its street legal incarnation to get this too.
Once again, we get carbon fiber body parts such as a quick-release engine hood, mirror caps and a generously-sized rear wing. These look the same as the ones found on the Super Trofeo Stradale and so do the wheels.
Nevertheless, there are revamped front and rear aprons. In addition, the Gallardo LP570-4 Squadra Corse features Italy flag-themed stripes.
The interior also seems to be identical to that of the Gallardo Super Trofeo Stradale, featuring an Alcantara finish for the dashboard and seats, as well as massive use of carbon fiber.
The 570 HP V10 engine at the center of the car is also inherited from the Super Trofeo Stradale - it’s also shared with the race car, where it’s used without mods. We were expecting Lamborghini to release a manual gearbox-fitted edition, but since the race car comes with an e-gear robotized manual, this is also found here.
The performance numbers bring us a 0 to 62 mph sprint of 3.4 seconds, a 10.4-second 0 to 124 mph (200 km/h) acceleration and a top speed of 199 mph (320 km/h).

While some may thing that this is the kind of failing scheme where you try to teach an old dog new tricks, we're convinced it will world just fine. Lamborghini hasn't said anything about this but they'll make the latest Bull a limited edition and it will sell like hot cakes. Yes the Gallardo is old and crumped, but matching its otherworldy V10 with carbon fiber and Alcantara created an addictive feeling for the driver.
