Kia USA has just released some photos of a new car called the Forte Five-Door, one which we never saw coming. We'll know more when the official press release is dropped at the Chicago Auto Show debut, but there's still plenty of interesting stuff to go over.
The US market Forte Five-Door is obviously the same car as the European Kia cee'd, but with a completely different front end that matches that on the four-door Forte sedan launched last year. In our opinion, it's not as good-looking, but you wouldn't exactly call it an ugly ducking.
The interior of the car offers sports seats with fake carbon fiber leather, as well as a leather wrapped sports steering wheel and carbon fiber trim for the dash and console. This and the fact that it's got two exhaust pipes and large diameter alloys points towards a hot model with the new 1.6-liter turbo engine, same as the one used by the Hyundai Veloster Turbo and the European Kia cee'd GT.
But the basic Kia Forte hatchback will probably be sold with the same 148 hp 1.8-liter and 173 hp 2.0-liter naturally aspirated four-bangers.
