The Jeep Grand Cherokee has become more of a global vehicle than many would have expected, taking on some car-like features and its first diesel to be sold in the US.
The 2014 Grand Cherokee features a completely redesigned bumper, grille and headlights. At the back, it features a softer bumper design, new LED taillights and new tailgate sheetmetal. With flowing lines and soft curves, it’s more car-like than it’s ever been.

Under that sculpted new bonnet is a 3-liter V6 turbodiesel borrowed from Fiat, which is expected to produce about 240 hp and also return 30 mpg highway. Full details will be released later today, but what’s even more impressive is that the 2014 Cherokee is offered with an eight-speed automatic transmission as well, which is also helping it cut down on fuel consumption.

autoevolution will be attending the 2013 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions presented at the event.
