Luxury car manufacturer Infiniti has announced that the G37 sedan will continue to be available in the United until mid-2015 alongside the all-new Q50.
Even though the Q50 was specifically developed to replace the G37, it looks like Infiniti decided to reposition the latter “at the lower end of the near luxury segment” and keep it in showrooms through model year 2015.
According to Infiniti, the rear-wheel drive Journey version will cost $32,550, while the all-wheel drive sedan will fetch $34,150, not including the $905 destination and handling fee. Both vehicle are powered by the familiar 3.7-liter V6 engine.
"The introduction of the Q50 with its distinctive design, engaging performance, world's first technologies and unmatched levels of connectivity and personalization, enables us to pursue a two-pronged strategy”, said Infiniti Americas Vice President Ben Poore. "It creates room to strategically offer the repositioned G37 at the lower end of the near luxury segment in addition to the higher-positioned Q50. The two vehicles aim at different market segments and allow us to serve different customer needs."
As we previously reported, the brand new Infiniti Q50 will start at $36,700, while the hybrid versions will hit dealerships with a price tag of at least $43,950.
