Indian describe their all-new flagship 2014 Chieftain as being "in touch with its past, but far ahead of its time,"and taking a good look at the bike, we can see there is much truth in these words.
The 2014 Chieftain boasts the classic lines which made the Indian bikes a favorite choice for those in search of a classic two-wheeler, yet brings new, present-day tech to the game. Powered by the massive Thunder Stroke 111 engine, the 2014 Chieftain comes with a 6-speed gearbox, with gear primary and belt final transmission, making it easy to cruise on sloping mountain roads or fly on the highway.

The aluminium frame has an integrated airbox and is one of the few elements which have been left without a chrome livery. As for the rest. Wherever there could be chrome, Indian put chrome, so that the 2014 Chieftain would offer a lush display of shiny metal.

Setting the new Chieftain apart from the rest is the fork-mounted fairing, with integrated turn signals and the iconic triple headlight array. Inside the massive fairing owners will also find an integrated 100W stereo system with AM/FM and bluetooth and smartphone compatibility, and a most convenient power windshield.

Aside the multitude of dash instruments, the front controls also boast easily-accessible cruise control commands and navi buttons for the large digital display which offers critical bike and ride data.

With premium leather seats and the traditional valenced fenders, the 2014 Indian Chieftain's massive attire is enhanced by the hardcase saddlebags, with chrome accents and remote locking. Just like we expected, countless accessories and aftermarket performance parts are readily available for the $22,999 (€17,183) bike (base price).
