Honda's premiere sport ATV TRX450R is available starting this month. Virtually loaded with off-road racing pedigree, this quad is engineered to offer a truly rewarding riding experience; however, if you're new in this sport, you'd better go for a less savage beast, as the 2014 Honda TRX450R is a pro's weapon of choice.
Easy to bring to life thanks to the electric starter, the 2014 Honda TRX450R sports a lot of Baja-proven technology. Starting from the lighweight racing rims and the MX-derived suspensions and ending with the twin-sump lubrication system, the 2014 Honda TRX450R is all racey.
Dual sump technology means separate oil supplies for the clutch/transmission and crankshaft, valvetrain and piston. This eliminate the transmission material contamination and less oil circulating oil, therefore a smaller, lighter oil pump.
The Unicam engine is fed through a Keihin 40mm flat-slide carburetor with Throttle Position Sensor, and is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Honda specifies that the 2014 TRX450R be operated by experienced riders only, with the minimal age of 16. Price is yet to be announced, and you can also choose between the classic red and Special Edition Tri-color scheme.
