The 2014 Fuso Canter light-duty truck just received a new top of the range weight version that has a permissible gross vehicle weight of 8.55 tons and allows chassis payloads of 6 tons. Those two figures are currently the benchmark in the Canter's weight class.
With the “easy to remember” name of 9C15/9C18, the new Fuso Canter weight variant features the Duonic automatic dual clutch transmission and the wide “C” (Comfort) passenger cab, while the engine consists of a three-liter diesel with either 150 hp or 175 hp, both versions being equipped with a diesel particulate filter and “BlueTec 6” SCR technology.
Other standard features consist of an engine brake with a braking power of 50kW, an electronic stability program system, anti-lock braking system and an electronic brake proportioning.
The Fuso Canter light-duty truck now has one of the widest ranges of versions in the compact truck world, with a permissible gross vehicle weight between 3.5 t and 8.55 t, 4x2 and 4x4 traction, hybrid drive, automated dual clutch transmission, six wheelbases, three cab variants and three power take-offs, whatever that may mean.
