Ford's decision to finally offer the Focus ST in the US was very well received by the fans. We're not sure the same can be said about its little cousin.
The configurator or model builder, whatever you want to call it, for the 2014 Fiesta ST has gone out without an official announcement. The big news is that Ford's own decided they wanted $21,400 for one of these hot four-door superminis.

It's kind of expensive considering the Focus ST is only a couple of thousand more and is has lots more space in the back and a big trunk.

Still, small, hot cars are cool right now, just ask MINI. The Fiesta ST has a lot of things we like. For example, its turbocharged 1.6-liter EcoBoost engine makes a nice 197-horsepower. It's not a round 200, but we'll take that any day over the MINI Cooper , which by the way is $2,500 more expensive.

Since the Fiesta ST is the type of car we'd actually want to buy, we delved a little deeper into the Builder. There are five boring colors that you can have for free, and two cooler ones that cost $600 more, including orange and lime green. 17-inch alloy wheels are standard, but if you want 17-inch Rado Gray premium painted wheels that will be another $375.

Sony audio is standard with integrated SYNC, but if you want navigation, it's another $795. The only real option you need to consider though is the ST Recaro Package, which transforms the interior with form-fitting partial leather seats.
