For those of you who didn't know this, the Ford Everest is a midsize SUV produced by Ford on the same platform as the Ranger pickup truck, which in turn has been derived from Mazda B-Series pickups.
In 2011, Ford launched a brand new Ranger (the T6). It was unveiled at the Australian International Motor Show in Sydney and comes with its own Ford architecture. Produced in South Africa, Argentina and Thailand, it's available in 180 market, including parts of Europe.

This is what a new Everest SUV would look like if it was based on the same architecture as the T6 Ranger pickup. These renderings created by Theophilus Chin show a reliable workhorse that could be powered by either a 2.5L Duratec (L5-VE) petrol engine or a 2.2L Duratorq TDCi diesel. It could be available with both 4x2 and 4x4 drivetrains as well as a choice between two manual and one automatic gearbox.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
