Loaded with the new Testastretta 11° 821cc liquid-cooled engine, the 2014 Ducati Hypermotard is one of the nice choices you can make if a shot at the "king of the street" title is on your list. Sporty, exceptionally maneuverable and yet with solid usability on a daily basis, the Hypermotard is THE urban big bike.
If extreme mileage and a scooter-like weight are priorities for you, then the 2014 Ducati Hypermotard is not your bike. But if you're after a 110 hp @ 9,250 rpm, of 89 Nm (65.8 ft-lb) @ 7,500 rpm torque machine, this means you're not afraid to burn some rubber.
The engine comes with triple power modes: High and Medium deliver full 100 hp with torque varying accordingly with the names. The Low mode drops power to 75 hp. The 6-speed transmission is actuated by an ATPC wet slipper clutch for less weight and more performance.
Ducati's 214 Hypermotard comes with 343mm USD forks and a Sachs rear damper, dual 320mm front rotors and Brembo calipers, and a 245mm rear one ABS 9MP is standard.
The 198kg (436 lbs, wet) bikes is also offered with a revised, comprehensive digital dash, 10-spoke cast rims and 17" Pirelli Diablo Rosso II tires. Price to be announced. The performance trim looks amazing, by the way!
