In the 2014 DTM Season BMW will be sending four teams into battle against their rivals from Audi and Mercedes adding up to a total of 8 drivers, 2 being new to this competition.
BMW Team RBM will see drivers Augusto Farfus and Joey Hand racing together under the careful supervision of Team Principal Bart Mampaey after finishing runner-up in the 2013 season with 148 points overall.
This year, BMW Team Schnitzer will have 2 former champions behind the wheel of their M4, Martin Tomczyk joining forces with Bruno Spengler in the quest for another title in the German championship, under the supervision of Charly Lamm.
Over at BMW Team MTEK, Timo Glock will have a new partner, a newbie in the DTM Championship, Antonio Felix da Costa that will be joining him after being promoted by the management, under the guidance of Team Principal Ernest Knoors.
Another newcomer will be Maxime Martin that will race side to side with Marco Wittmann under the BMW Team RMG flag, after leaving the US ALMS series, with Stefan Reinhold as Team Principal.
Talking about the new teams, BMW Motorsport Director, Jens Marquardt said: “I am confident this line-up is the ideal solution for BMW Motorsport and our DTM project. I think we have another very impressive looking line-up again in 2014. As far as the fans are concerned, I believe there is something there to suit everyone’s taste.“
The DTM season will start on May 4th on the Hockenheimring this year and will end on the same circuit on October 19th.
